STHM – Horizontal Torque Flow Pumps
The ST pump range consists of tough, general purpose slurry pumps particularly known for their induced flow impellers. The hydraulic design provides a very gentle handling of the slurry. The proven low attrition of pumped particles has made it the industrial standard for carbon transfer in gold leaching processes. The “clog less” performance of the induced flow impellers also makes this product ranges ideal for all applications where large or long, stringy solids will be handled. The STHM pumps are also available with alternative impeller designs which allow optimum adaptation to different media – from heavy suspensions to clean liquids
- Capacities from 5 to 4500 GPM (1 to 1250 m3/hr)
- Heads up to 135 feet (40 meters)
Design Features
- Vortex or Channel Impeller – Vortex impeller for heavy suspension and liquid/gas mixture. Channel impeller for light suspensions and clean liquids
- V-Belt Drive – This permits alteration of the pump’s performance without opening the pump
- Bearing Assembly – Cartridge type with grease lubricated roller bearings for more than 60,000 operating hours
- Shaft Seal – Standard stuffing box with seal water. Optional mechanical seals.
- Pumping Parts – Standard pumping parts in cast iron, stainless steel, high chrome, and some sizes in polyurethane or rubber-lined
- Motor Bed Plate – Overhead motor bed plate gives compact installation with extra motor protection and simple belt tensioning
- Vortex Impeller – The vortex impeller is recessed in the back of the pump casing, giving a free passage through the casing. The pump can normally pass anything that can fit through the connecting pipes
MILL DISCHARGE PUMPS
MD – Mill Discharge Pumps
Specifically designed from its inception for mill circuit applications, the Metso MD series of mill discharge MDM hard metal and MDR rubber lined slurry pumps offer sustained performance with maximum time between mill shutdowns. Hydraulic design is consistent across the entire range and by limiting the inlet velocity at design BEP impact damage from coarse heavy solids is kept to an absolute minimum. Large diameter high aspect ratio impellers provide for excellent hydraulic efficiency with minimum turbulence at minimum rotational speed, thereby reducing the rate of wear. Reduced impeller overhang restricts shaft deflection across a wide range of flows, and in so doing maximizes shaft seal and radial bearing life. Suction side recirculation is restricted by an adjustable inlet liner / wear plate. When used in conjunction with the axially adjustable bearing cartridge, the design provides for ‘double adjustment’ ensuring that both suction side and gland side impeller clearances can be set and reset at a minimum.
